Folding Chairs available – A generous donation from Milton Porter was given to the church with a request it go towards purchasing new padded chairs for Phelps Hall. This has allowed the vestry to purchase 135 padded chairs. We now have an excess of steel unpadded chairs and will offer them to parish members. They are against the windows in the Hall and are labeled for the taking. Members may take them. We are offering them for free or you may make a small donation to the kitchen fund. Happy New Year! The Vestry.
Baby sitter needed – A parishioner is looking for help with their two girls, ages 4 & 6 for afterschool in Colchester. Mondays would start at 2pm and the other days start at school pick up, 3pm. One week would be Monday, Tuesday and Friday and the other week would be Wednesday and Thursday. Duties include picking them up at school and taking them to dance and piano lessons. A driver’s license is essential. Please contact the office? If you are interested.
Calling All Youth! Judi Babin and Lynn Hassouna have begun a new series of discussions for youth to be held on Sunday mornings at 10 a.m. in Father Perry’s office. Any young person in grades 7 through 12 is welcome to join them. These discussions will continue to be held on the second and fourth Sundays of each month. More events are being planned including a Confirmation Class starting in January. The next meeting will be held on January 24th
Confirmation Classes to begin in January! Father Perry will be scheduling Confirmation classes for any interested youth or adults beginning in early January. This provides a wonderful opportunity for anyone wishing to join the Episcopal Church, any youth (9th grade or older) wanting to become adult members of the congregation or anyone interested in engaging in conversation about the meaning of our Episcopal traditions or how our faith enriches our lives. Please contact the parish office or speak to Father Perry if you have questions or are interested in “signing up!”
Sewing Machine for sale – A pre-owned sewing machine with advanced capabilities regarding embroidery stitching is for sale in Phelps Hall. Anyone interested in examining it or purchasing it may see it on Sunday or call the office. It may be purchased for a donation (the amount to be determined by the purchaser) to Father Perry’s “Rector’s Discretionary Fund.” Any questions regarding the machine’s history may be addressed to Stephanie Wheeler.
