Community Walk for Unity

With so much unrest in the world, the Gilead Congregational Church invites the community to come together for a Walk for Unity. Take a stand for peace, unity, love and inclusiveness on Sept. 21, the 2017 United Nations International Day of Peace. The theme of this year’s International Day of Peace is “Together for Peace: Respect, Safety and Dignity for All.” Let’s spread the message that Love Lives Here.

We will gather at 5:45 p.m. at Veteran’s Park (on Wall Street, across from RHAM High School) in Hebron to walk as a group to the Gazebo near Town Hall (on Route 85). Walkers are invited to bring signs to carry which have a positive message (e.g. “We Love Our Neighbors”, “Love Lives Here”)  At 7:00 pm speakers will address the themes of unity and inclusion in a 30-minute ceremony at the Gazebo. Join in one or both events, depending on your schedule; the important thing is that we all come together and show that our strength lies in our unity.
